Looking at the serial number however, its 6788, which has a production date of August 30th, 1917, and is within the first 10,000 Winchesters, and 1917s period, ever made ( I believe, based off the book "United States Rifle Model of 1917 by C. Its all together a mixmaster, and it isn't even pretty all M1917s considered. Beyond the receiver, the bolt is a mix of Eddystone and Remington parts, and the rifle has what appears to be a full grain reproduction leather sling attached. No markings on it whatsoever which is unusual, and the magazine doesnt fit the best within the wood lines. The stock appears refinished or perhaps a replacement of some kind. Now, looking over the rifle, it doesnt seem anything overly special. They want $1200 for it, but I was told I could probably get it down to $1050. 32-40, serial number 820370 (1917 mfg) with saddle ring, walnut stock, 19 1/4 barrel.
